About Us
Starting in 1942, W. Edward Austen, as an agent for Riggs-Warfield-Roloson, began selling insurance from a small office at 3407 eastern Boulevard. In 1967, the insurance operation was expanded through the creation of Austen’s Insurance Agency. Today, thanks to the patronage of the people in the many surrounding communities, Austen’s Insurance Agency has grown to a full service multi-line independent insurance agency serving the insurance needs of more than 1600 individuals, families and businesses.

In the area of commercial lines insurance, the agency specializes in packaging coverages for retail businesses and small to medium size contracting and service accounts.

In the area of personal lines, the agency concentrates on packaging automobile, homeowners, umbrella, and other coverages. Having one company insure all of the personal coverages prevents gaps and overlaps in coverages as well as reducing premiums through the total account discounts offered by many of the insurance companies.

The agency also has markets available for life insurance, disability insurance, long term care insurance, and annuities.
